Steve Borneman to join 93.5 WRNR, Annapolis, MD, as General Manager

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- July 8, 2026 -- Legendary rocker 93.5 WRNR (WYRE-A / W228ER), which returned to the FM airwaves last July at the 93.5 FM frequency, then expanded via LMA of 93.5 FM Silver Spring, MD signal (WTOP-HD4 + W228DI) announces the hiring of Steve Borneman as their incoming General Manager effective September 1st.

Longtime media executive, Steve Borneman, will join WRNR Annapolis after his current duties at WZBA ‘100.7 The Bay’ conclude with the expected station sale closing to Educational Media Foundation, K-Love, in August. Borneman said, “WRNR is exactly the kind of radio station I believe in—local, community-focused, and committed to serving its listeners. I'm excited to join the team and look forward to helping continue that tradition.”

Borneman is currently President and General Manager of Times Shamrock’s WZBA 100.7 The Bay, since 2022. Prior to that, he was Chief Operating Officer at Pamal Broadcasting in New York; General Manager at Times Shamrock’s Scranton PA market; and President and General Manager for Cumulus Media’s NYC stations, WPLJ and WABC.
