Not too long ago, the success or failure of a special event could be measured by the number of TV cameras in attendance or how many print journalists showed up. As we approach 2025, does counting TV cameras still matter? Or are there other ways—perhaps even better ways—to get the word out about our event and our organization? Is owned media more important nowadays than earned media? In these days of smaller news staffs and fewer resources, what can PR professionals do to help ensure a good media turnout and positive coverage? Join us on Tuesday, November 12, at 5:30 p.m. to meet a panel of PR experts who can answer all those questions and many more. They have decades of hands-on experience on both sides of the TV camera, behind the radio microphone, in front of the college classroom, and inside a fast-paced PR and strategic communications agency. At this Q&A comms pros may learn what works, what doesn’t, and what tactics are considered absolute no-no’s by the editors and reporters whose coverage we covet. Our panel: Jamie Costello, broadcast journalist; Sue Kopen Katcef, reporter, anchor, and professor; and Caitlin Wiggins, director of marketing for Liquified Creative.
